Two photographers walk into a wedding…

…and can't believe how bad the photo booth pictures are. Fifteen years later, here we are.

How it started

It started with Luke, a camera and a lot of bad booth photos.

Luke spent ten years as a wedding photographer, shooting in Australia and around the world. At almost every wedding there was a photo booth in the corner, and almost every one made beautiful, dressed-up people look terrible.

So he built his own, with a real camera, proper studio light, and every image edited the way he edits a wedding. Word got around. Then brands started calling.

As it grew, it was clear people really cared about quality. So Luke brought in Ed, a photographer and videographer from the editorial and art world, to push the look even further.

Fifteen years on, Boothalicious runs across Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, for weddings, milestone birthdays and brands like Prada, Nike and The Ordinary. The standard hasn't moved.

Three things we do differently

Why our photos look like photographs.

Real cameras, real light

Professional camera bodies and lenses under studio lighting, set for the room. Not a tablet and a ring light pointed at a wall.

The Cinematic Edit

Every frame from every event is colour-corrected and finished by a person, in the same style Luke uses for his wedding work. Two looks: Portofino for colour, Noir for black and white, both with naturally smooth, glowing skin. It's the step nobody else in the industry takes, and it's the difference you can see from across the room.

Hand-built in Melbourne

We design and build our booths ourselves. That's why they look like furniture in the room, not a vending machine in the corner.

Why we're not the cheapest.

A cheap booth is cheap because something was left out: the lens, the light, the edit, or the build. You don't find out which until the photos arrive, and by then the night is over. We'd rather be worth it. Our booths have been copied, our photos have been borrowed, and we're still the original. Often copied. Never quite.
